Carla: Can you please introduce your role within the company?
Sophie: I am Chief Interior Designer for Home and Yachts, I specialise in furniture. My background is in history of art and visual arts.
Carla: What was the inspiration behind the flat?
Sophie: The interior design of my apartment is inspired by the 50s and 60s and great artists such as Cocteau and Picasso. I wanted to keep the Mediterranean essence throughout the flat - my living room has a predominance of sage green to match the olive trees from my garden, and my kitchen has a custom yellow lava kitchen top as well as lemon wallpaper on the wall and ceilings! You will also find a series of lemon drawings and paintings which I designed during lockdown using different techniques.
Carla: What is your favourite item in the house?
Sophie: My pottery collection from Vallauris - I love finding pieces in flea markets, I feel like these pieces gives a lot of personality to my apartment!
Carla: When is your favourite time to host?
Sophie: Aperitivo! The terrace in front of my living room was designed to host: the large banquette can also be used a sunbed and the two operate coffee table allow to create a very cosy atmosphere.
Carla: Which room do you spend most time and why?
Sophie: Definitely my kitchen, as you know I love cooking and baking!
